This weekend marks the 3rd week of the SANZAR Super 14 Rugby.
True Visions satellite TV is showing some of the 6 Nations games (those that do not clash with any soccer) but none of the Super 14s.
Bangkok however has a surfeit of Sports Bars where you can watch the action. My usual hang-outs are in [...]

The Bank of Thailand has cut short term interest rates by 0.5% in another measure to boost the economy.
In response, Siam Commercial Bank has cut lending and deposit rates by 0.25%. For the first time in a decade, it is cutting savings deposit rates from the already paltry 0.75% to 0.5%.
To put this in perspective, [...]

The Platinum Fashion Mall in Bangkok is one of those really interesting places to shop in. I am not terribly patient following my wife around when she shops for clothes, but I must confess I was wide-eyed at the sheer variety of items on display in this mall. I can imagine it must be heaven [...]
At TOPS Thong Lo, Pantai Sambal is up from 49.5 baht to 51 baht. Perhaps it was one of those ‘not quite 50 things’. Kleenex tissues are up 6 baht for the 3-pack and Magiclean Floor is back to 40 baht. Nestle Pure Life drinking water was on a promotion, only 49 baht for a dozen [...]
I haven’t been writing as much as I should have because I have been watching the Australian Open Tennis, the first major of 2009. It’s a great excuse, seeing as it only comes once a year, but to assuage my guilt (they all come once a year), I thought I’d better share some insight.
Federer looked [...]
