'Croc' Sunbathing 23 viewsAs I moved closer, Croc became wary of my presence. After this shot I tried to open the screen door for better shots, but Croc scampered off.

'Croc' on Wall3 viewsNone the worse for the 9 hour ordeal, Croc was clambering all over the place on 28th April.

'Croc' on Spa4 viewsWe have a disused circular planter in the garden just outside the dining room, which we call the spa as birds come to bathe in the water. On 14th April, 2009 I noticed this baby monitor lizard crawling around it. Total body length excluding its tail is about 6 - 8 inches or 15 - 20 cm. Notice the sharp claws - these help it to climb trees easily, though it seems to have little problem with other surfaces. We've nicknamed it "Croc".

'Croc' on Light3 viewsI took this photo on 27th April, 2009 at 3.23 p.m. The little tyke reached the end of the security light before realising that the tree branches were too small to support it. It stayed there frozen until after midnight, too afraid to turn around, and I was worried it would die. Fortunately about 1.00 a.m. hunger or thirst must have helped it overcome the fear of falling, so it turned and left. The next morning it was wandering around the garden as usual.
